When Mowilex was supporting local communities, schools, hospitals and faith organizations with donated paint and volunteer labor, "CSR" was not part of the corporate language. The connection with the communities in which we operate has always been important to us.


Over the years we have been very active in supporting small communities throughout Indonesia. In the last 10 years alone we have donated as much as 50,000 liters of paint per year as a company.

We undertook an ambitious project, painting the entire village of Cipambuan in Bogor from 22 to 29 June in 2006. The project took seven days to complete, and used our paint. Also, our employees donated 1000s of hours of their time to make ambitious goal a reality.

This project was endorsed and recognize by Indonesian's then president and first lady Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono didampingi Ibu Negara and Ani Yudhoyono.

Until we did this, no other company had ever sponsored a large, multi-day event like this.

We are not aid-delivery specialists. However, we were compelled to respond to the disaster in Palu as very little aid was able to reach the port. We knew some commercial products could still be shipped unimpeded, so we made best of what we could and what we had:

- We purchased 15 tons of rice
- We purchased 3 tons of hygienic products
- Volunteers from our factory packed the food and other supplies in food-grade bags, then packed them in paint cans
- We shipped a container of what appeared to be paint to the port
- 8 of our employees, led by the head of security and our CSR head personally traveled to Palu to deliver the aid

Our shipment was not confiscated as the port believed were shipping paint. Over the next three days our crew personally delivered the aid to villages in the area.

In 2019 more than 120 of our employees volunteered their entire weekend to paint the Dwituna Rawinala home for children with multiple disabilities. About 90% of all the interior and exterior walls were painted in colors chosen by Rawinala. The color choices were done to help children with near blind level vision.

This project seemed small at first, but as old paint was removed, we discovered damage to the walls. We then brought in our specialized technical support team to patch problem areas. A total of 4,000 square meters of walls were repaired and painted as well as floors, fences and other areas.
