PT Mowilex has announced the company’s fifth consecutive year of CarbonNeutral® certification. This year, Mowilex took a step further by purchasing a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) to certify the use of renewable energy for the entire company’s electricity needs, which is the most significant contribution to Mowilex’s emissions in this reporting year. The REC purchased is from the Lahendong Geothermal Project (PLTP) in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, provided by PLN. The purchase of RECs reduced the total emissions that we must offset to achieve carbon neutrality. This purchase is also a concrete step for Mowilex in contributing to the renewable energy transition in Indonesia.
Supporting National Solar Power Development Program projects in India that produce clean energy
The National Solar Energy Development Programme contributes to Social, Environmental, and Technological Welfare. The project was established in remote areas, generating more than 60 permanent and temporary jobs for local residents. The electricity generated from these projects is channeled into the deficit grid, thereby increasing the availability of electricity in the region. By replacing electricity generated from fossil fuels, this project results in reduced greenhouse gas emissions and airborne pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and particulates. The successful operation of these projects is proof of harnessing the potential of solar power and encourages other small-scale entrepreneurs to participate in similar projects. This has contributed to sustainable development in the local region and India by increasing electricity supply with clean, renewable solar power.
